October
Join us at OM this mid-term break for some spooky sessions packed with fun, exciting discoveries and Hallowe’en magic!
Creepy, Crawly & Misunderstood! đˇď¸
This Halloween, discover the spooky side of nature and learn more about some of Irelandâs most misunderstood creatures! From spiders and bats to beetles, worms and moths, weâll explore why these animals can sometimes seem creepy or scary and uncover the important jobs they do in our forests and gardens â from pollinating plants and controlling pests to recycling nutrients and supporting the wider ecosystem.
Then itâs time to get creative! Children will build their own spooky haunted bug hotel using natural and recycled materials, creating a safe home for real minibeasts, which they will take home with them. Theyâll also get crafty, creating their own recycled-material insect, bat or other creepy creature to add to their spooky creation.
Who knows? By the end of the session, they might discover that some of natureâs creepiest creatures arenât quite so scary after all!
