12 September
The Milky Way Galaxy reaches a prime position in our sky during late summer and early autumn and the best time to see this spectacular sight in our night sky is on a moonless night.
If skies are clear you’ll enjoy the best view of our galaxy, the Galactic Core. This is visible in the sky here in Northern Ireland’s only Dark Sky Park, far away from light pollution.
Anyone wanting to find out how to photograph this natural wonder using a camera or smartphones can be shown how. In the event of poor weather our friendly astronomy guides will take you on a short dark walk. This activity is known to help re-adjust your body to natural darkness while enjoying the calming sounds of the river and nocturnal wildlife. This event is designed as a mindful moment with the night sky and to engage with the natural night. No equipment or experience is necessary, and this event is open to all.
Please wear suitable footwear and clothing and dress warm in case of low temperatures.
A rare, intimate experience under the stars. Tickets are strictly limited — secure yours now.
