Monthly Sessions

Step away from the rush of everyday life and immerse yourself in the calm of nature. Join us in Davagh Forest for a deeply restorative Forest Bathing experience designed to help you slow down and reconnect with yourself.

Shinrin Yoku (Japanese Forest Bathing) emerged in Japan, but its physical and mental health benefits have been endorsed by the NHS Health Research Authority.

A typical session lasts two hours and you will be immersed in the woodlands to take part in a series of sensory meditations; sound, smell, sight, touch and even taste to help you slow down and reconnect with nature in a very deep and profound way.

The immersion will be led by Tony Bailie who is one of the few qualified Forest Therapy practitioners working on the island of Ireland.

Sunday 22 March

Strike the perfect balance with forest bathing on the weekend of the spring equinox at Davagh Forest. This is the time of year when day and night are of equal length, symbolising balance as we enter fully into spring, a time of renewal and growth in both nature and at a personal level.

Saturday 2 May

Celebrate Bealtaine in Davagh Forest with Shinrin Yoku. In the Celtic calendar the first days in May marked the start of the “light half” of the year. Bealtaine falls midway between the spring equinox and summer solstice.

Sunday 21 June

Mark the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, at Davagh Forest with Shinrin Yoku. The sun is at its highest point in the sky and it is a time to absorb its energy and the energy of this woodland set in an ancient landscape where nature is thriving.
